What is “Amtrak”?

Amtrak is a government-owned passenger train service that was created in 1971 by the Nixon administration. A relaxing way to travel (provided there are no delays), a great way to watch America's countryside fly by (and, well, America's neglected back yards), and an alternative to both the bus and air travel.
