“Infinity Blade is easily the best looking game to his the ipad/iphone 4 this year, if not of all time. It's a simple game involving a continuing battle against an evil "GOD KING" and how one family keeps attempting to kill him and failing every generation, letting the next generation dawn their father's armor and seek revenge.
The gameplay here is smart, intuitive and fun. You play as a knight in a 3rd person perspective. As you approach a looming castle, you click on where you want to go, and occasionally you take on one of the God King's champions. When you do you slash at them with finger strokes across the screen. There's also strategy involving parrying their attacks, blocking and dodging. It's very satisfying
As you play you gain gold, which allows you to buy new weapons. You also gain XP for each item that you use, leveling them up as you go until you master them. Once you've mastered an Item you get to spend a point on your stats and become the best fighter you can.
What's great about the game is that each time you play, chances are you will lose to the God King. He's strong than every other character, and faster. It feels cheap at first. Each time you die you restart the entire game as the son of the last character you played as.
But that's the point of the game and where the title comes in. It's an infinite loop of you taking on this one castle and trying to kill the God King and avenge your family once and for all.”
“an on-rails ARPG by Epic Games, makers of the Unreal engine. There is not a whole lot of story as the game mainly relies on a self improvement mechanism. But the graphics are the best that has ever appeared on the iphone/iPad and the combat is surprisingly deep (without much frustration) and innovative. the amount of items available for purchase (with ingame currency) and level up customisation should satisfy a lot of rpg fans.
price includes both iphone and ipad version. Having played on both, I would have to stick with the iPhone, however. The graphics and resolution is more detailed and controls are far far easier as everything is within reach. Only downside is, if you're looking for all the secret pickups, they'll mostly be too small to be seen on the smaller screen.
game center integration, with multiplayer and lots of updates and expansions planned- this has plenty replayability. worth every dollar+highly recommended”
“Seriously? Best. iPhone. Game. Ever. Beautiful, lot of action, easy to play. If you have an iPhone 4 or an iPad, you NEED this game! And multiplayers will be added soon for free, to play with your friends through the Game Center.”
“BEST GAME IN THE APP STORE!!!!! This game has stellar graphics! Durring gameplay and cutscenes the graphics are better than a wii game! The iPad version is included with it. It is definitely worth 6.99$”
“It is ok now, it is pretty repetitive though. You just slice and dice through a couple of enemies, either die at the last one or win at the last one, and then do it all over again. BUT, they're eventually going to have an update with online playing and hopefully more gameplay. So I would get it now because when it becomes popular in the future, it'll get more expensive. What got me confused though is that "Epic Citadel" was project sword, but this seem much more like what they showed at the event. Maybe they will mix both of them or something.”
“First awesome real real game.
Great Graphics!
A+++
seriously awesome. only wished there was free roaming”
“The BEST Game for iPod Touch and iPhone iPod Touch 4G only and iPhone 4 Only i Think”
“BEST iPhone GAME EVER! I cannnot stop playing this it is very addictive alot like Doodlejump, you will spend hours playing this.”
“An excellent game with a great story and superb graphics. This game was developed by Epic Games, the creators of the Banjo-Kazooie series as well as the Gears of War franchise for the Xbox 360. This game utilizes Epic's new Unreal Technology mobile engine. This game is really fun and really addictive and it is worth the $5.99.”
“insane.fucking.graphics”
“Well let's just start off saying that this game is probably the best game in the app store. If you had not had a chance to play this yet I recommend you to buy this now because you are seriously missing out on the fun. The controls are very smooth and if you've seen the game you will know how gorgeous this game looks thanks to unreal engine. The only con that I can think of is how the game will get kinda repetitive as you go through the same sequence over and over again due to the storyline of the game. All in all if you haven't bought this game yet please do so because you will not regret it.”
“good fun but to repaeative”
“I have to say I really did enjoy this game when I first downloaded it, you can't deny how stunning the game looks. Definitely takes advantage of what the iPad and iPhone can do. The game does get repetitive after a while and I hear they're planning on updating the app to get more features. You can keep playing it making your character better with many options of swords, shields, armor, etc you can upgrade from. I say give it a shot, i think the graphics alone is worth the money as nothing so far looks as amazing visual on iOS.”
“A really impressive application, the iOS version of the Unreal Engine looks set to open up a whole new world of mobile gaming.
I think this is worth it for just the amazing graphics, but the game itself has fun hack-and-slash gameplay, a brilliant way to kill some free time.”
“the unreal engine on your iphone4 know about it”
“Stunning graphics, pretty good gameplay. At least to me it was worth the $$$”
“This game is Very special, as it runes on the Unreal gaming engine, it has AMAZING graphics, but the accturly game play is pritty average, but well worth the money jut as the graphics are amazing :)”
“Fun but relatively easy game with excellent graphics. It's a little expensive, but it has good updates with plenty of replayability.”
“A ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE!!!”
