I quit downloading Amazon's free aps when I realized that you MUST keep the Amazon Appstore (installed) if you want to use any of the free apps you get with it.

Yeah, I am ok with that, I don't have any plans to remove that app anyway. I buy things there over Google. I went to buy an app that is from europe (the continent, not the band ) and Google wouldn't take amex and do the conversion, but Amazon did.
