Addis Ababa Restaurant Reviews

“First date. She looked like a young, petite, Caribbean Dr. River Song. Email and chat had gone very smoothly, but in person she had less filter and I couldn't read her at all. Just as she asked me an important question, my mouth became unexpectedly stuffed full of an unbelievable amount of bone. Awkward on top of awkward, I even tripped over selecting the right entendre (single? triple? None?) while trying to figure out how to vacate my mouth to speak. Eye contact was destroyed while I dealt with my extended bone crises, since the next few bites also had bones (luckily, smaller ones).
There's no way in hell I'm taking omnivorous first dates there again. Vegetarian ones, maybe. Actually, I think I'm going to shop around for new Ethiopian places - there are many in this area.”

“Excellent Ethiopian for three, plus ample leftovers. At the corner of Fenton & Thayer Ave, Silver Spring, MD. I've finally memorized the address, which is good, because every time I google them it takes me to Ethiopia's capital (after which this restaurant is named):

“Introducing my vegetarian friend David to Ethiopian food with a veggie combo, plus the vegetarian (mushroom) tibs. Many Ethiopians eat here, and they often dress extremely well (suits, coats, dresses, traditional Ethiopian attire). White people wear jeans or business casual. Addis Ababa is the best Ethiopian food I've had in Silver Spring, MD and rivals the mini Ethiopias in DC.”
“Very good Ethiopian. Great service. Cozy.”
“Noms for two, with we both enjoyed quite a bit. Included two smallish appetizers and a combo platter for two, which, even though my guest was 6' 7ish", was enough food for a meal and a half of leftovers. My favorite Ethiopian in Silver Spring, MD.”
