“This was a pretty good movie. This will be a short review because my wrist is killing me. I admit I wasn't completely riveted to the screen during half (over half?) of the movie- I was painting, which is probably why my wrist hurts (that and all the x-rays this morning - if they wouldn't twist it around so much, it wouldn't hurt so much, lol). But towards the end it got more interesting, and I did really like the ending. When I watched it with the commentary, the guy interviewing the director asked why he didn't end it at a certain point involving the kids (I don't like giving spoilers even on a two year old movie), but I understood. The movie would not have been complete, or as satisfying, without the reconciliation scene at the very end of the movie. In fact, I sat there saying, out loud (can you tell I was watching it alone?) "X better happen, X better happen, they'd BETTER have him do X" - so I was very happy they did. It didn't need to be THAT dark of a movie. If it had, I would NOT have given it more than 2 stars. Endings are important. :-)”
