They DID do a remake. The stars of 90s sitcoms (Kelsey Grammar, Megan Mullaly, Bebe Neuwirth) teach a pack of annoying kids. It was also a TV show.

“Not exactly what I was expecting. I never saw the original one so I don't really have anything to compare it to. It seemed very rushed though, like the filmmakers were trying to get everything shoved into the time limit and some of the story was lost. I didn't like how the movie went by the years in high school because it seemed like parts where missing. I did love the musical selections and the dancing, those parts were amazing. I would watch it again just for those two things, but the story was lacking.”

“Ok, since I saw the remake I had to see the original. Guess what? I like the remake better. I took me 30 minutes to get into this movie. The first part (auditions) was horrible and so slow. I almost cut off the movie. If it wasn't for my boyfriend Danny, I would have. Most of the music is the same, and the newer one switched up some of the characters a bit, but it was still a decent movie. If you are bored and have absolutely nothing else to do. Watch it.”
