Sunshine Cleaning Reviews

“A quick, cute film with a bit of substance. Amy Adams is a lovable (former cheerleader) cleaning lady who hears from the married cop she is with that she could make more money cleaning up crime scenes- she takes the job. The characters are all hashed out well, the writing is beautiful and meaningful, and i finished this feeling happy and affirmed.
Also the way she describes the little bit of joy she is able to bring into peoples' lives in their time of greatest need is remarkable.”

“LOVE THIS MOVIE. So good.”
“I love both of the lead expectations, so I had high hopes for this movie. After hearing good things I was excited for a feel good movie. Well, to say it bluntly I felt like SC fell short. I didn't find myself empathizing with the main character, I found myself seriously questioning why she would waste so much time screwing her exboyfriend, especially when she has a kid. Who is the kid's Dad? Why did they date, stop dating and now screw again? I just felt like a lot of the things in the movie happened but I had no reason to care about them or get emotionally invested.
We don't even get a resolution at the end. How did the sister have enough money to take off on a cross country trip when she'd just burned down a house? How is that ok given she ruined her sister's business? Oh thanks for the money, bye have fun paying the bills I'm off to "find myself". Please. And the Dad funding the business - no really people are going to figure out who's running the business no matter who's name is on the van and still not want to do business with you.
I really wanted to like this movie but just recounting the things that annoyed me.. I just can't.”
“this is a very strange story that is about a very strange profession. it has its high and low moments but leads to a happy ending”
“Decided to watch this movie because the title reminded me of Little Miss Sunshine. It's a different story, but just as quirky. :) Love the dysfunctional relationships between all the characters; can't say I can pick a favorite, but the Dad and son have hilarious personalities.
The small town feel and average (perhaps below average) upbringing of the characters allows the movie to transform unusual situations into ones that the audience can personally connect with.”
“Quirky offbeat indie with crazy subject matter. Amy Adams should have won an Oscar for her performance. She was BRILLIANT! Everyone was.”
“Not exactly what you'd expect, and that's a good thing.”
“Thought it'd be more funny but I was wrong, was great movie though.”
