“Hm. I really hate to do this, but...I think this was one of my least favorite Modern Family episodes ever. I wasn't a big fan of the Cam/Mitchell/Mother plotline, and the Dunphy family plotline with Dylan was mediocre--excepting the end, I thought, where Hailey really showed some great vulnerability with the way she and Dylan left things.
On a bright side, making a big comeback from last week was Gloria's plotline. It wasn't enough to save the episode, in my opinion, but I thought it was very character-appropriate the way she dealt with people saying they were sick. Oh, and when she popped her arm back into the socket during the game of ping pong? Genius.
Overall, this episode wouldn't be a reason to start watching Modern Family, but it's definitely not a reason to stop watching either.”
“i absolutely love this show ahah i think that oneday i will be the spanish chick with the older white husband hahaha”
“Modern Family is back!!! I thought this was a solid episode. Phil was incredibly entertaining, as always. And I thought Gloria was especially funny. OH and James Marsden was a pretty great guest star, haha.
In general, though, I find I don't like the second season as much as I liked the first, but I don't know why. What do you think of the two seasons?”
“'Gloria' and 'Phil' are hilarious in almost every episode. Everything else is typical ABC bull doo-doo”
“THE FUNNIEST show in television. If you haven't gotten into it, get involved. Like now.”
“I think that the writers of Modern Family are spying on my dad.
Phil basically IS my dad. Check it: my dad's a realtor. He has a big stereo system that no one else knows how to work. He spent the better part of a night chasing a phantom beeping around the house a few years ago. It's getting pretty eerie at this point.
P.S. This was a great episode. As usual.”
“Modern Family is something that we've been lacking for a long time - comedy that relies on great writing; well-drawn, closely-observed characters we can all see ourselves in; good acting. What a breath of fresh air. This episode is one of the best.”
“Sometimes god shuts a door and locks your wife in the bathroom long enough to anchor the cabinet to the wall”
“I luv Modern Family. i laugh my ass off every episode.”
“it's a doggy dog world!”
“This was an okay Modern Family. Not as good as the past ones.”
“I really liked this episode! It's nice to have a really good one after a few so-so ones (though so-so Modern Family episodes are better than a lot of other normal tv series episodes). I thought Phil getting all riled up over cologne was hilarious, and Cam's "People Aren't Food" song was fantastic.”
“very funny i couldnt stop laughing at phil and claire it was amazing definitely check it out”
“Pretty good show I t really depends on the episode”
“How can you not love this show? Heartfelt family comedy mingled with spontaneous dancing, an angry Columbian woman with a BB gun, and an elderly couple performing the act of infidelity. God bless "Modern Family".”
“Great show. Glad it won the emmy.”
“I loved this episode. Modern Family has been sort of wishy washy for me lately, but I thought this one was tons of fun. I think what really took this episode home for me was 1. The Dunphy kids banding together to survive the traumatic experience of walking in on their parents and 2. The slight bait-and-switch they did in Gloria's plotline when it intersected with Phil and Claire's, and in Mitchell and Cam's plotline.
1. The three Dunphy kids often spend episodes fighting each other, which can be funny, but I really enjoyed seeing them working as a team in this episode. The plotline seemed very heartfelt and real to me.
2. The bait-and-switch I mean worked as follows: so Modern Family tends to do a lot of jokes where two characters are talking about different things in the same conversation and hilarity ensues when they discover that they weren't talking about the same thing. This happened between Gloria and Claire, but this time, Gloria didn't admit to the fact that she was talking about something else, and instead let Claire and Phil stay confused while she moved on with her agenda. They also used audience expectations with Mitchell and Cam when they were at a woman's house whom they wanted to impress and Cam ALMOST knocked over a vase right when they were talking about how they were totally in. That was exactly when you would have expected them to screw things up, but they didn't. At least not RIGHT then. I thought that was well done.
Haha. I analyze this crap too much, don't I? ;p Suffice it to say I thought this episode was really good.”
