The Last Detective Reviews
What is “The Last Detective”?
Dangerous Davies is the last detective the department would ever call on. Why? Davies is less concerned about statistics and the old boy network than about helping people. Doing that means talking, listening, and understanding the why and how behind a case. This takes time, and it's not terribly macho -- so as far as internal culture goes, it doesn't matter if Davies closes the cases or not. What matters is that he's a wimp, and that he's going about it all wrong.
The Last Detective balances gentle comedy with procedural drama. As is common with UK shows, the show has had an irregular run, with 17 episodes aired between 2003-2007. Each episode is between 70-90 minutes.

There actually is a bit of light continuity as the show goes on. Probably doesn't matter too much, though.
