“Anticipated social app that let you share emotions through photos. Instagram gathered 100,000 users in their first week and that's I think is because
1) most iPhone users already have several photos that can be shared online
2) Photos are universal
3) well integrated with social media such as twitter, facebook and foursquare
4) UI is beautiful. Useful effects are built into their iPhone app. Photos look great
The issue now is how they can retain user attention. So far they have no game elements such as foursquare's batch. I'm looking forward to see what is going to happen to them”

“San Francisco based Instagr.am gives me chills everytime I use it. The photo features are decent, offering a plethora of "artsy" filters that you can apply to new photos or photos transferred from computer/e-mail. You then post these photos with filters to your Instagram wall, where friends can view, comment, etc. My favorite feature is the "New" wall that shows pictures from around the world that users have posted recently. The pictures are presented in a 4-across grid that fills up the screen with extremely beautiful, strange, mysterious, scary and every other emotion you can imagine photos. My favorite is logging on in the P.M., when the people in Japan start taking all of their pictures, it's really cool to see. Free and 9/10.”
“Instagram is awesome. It's dead-simple photo taking and sharing from the iphone, with all kinds of fun built in. You snap a picture, add a creative filter, and share it to any number of sites instantly (fickr, facebook, twitter, etc). It geotags and checks you in on Foursquare. There's also an internal social layer, with community areas where you can view and favorite the best public photos. Instagram fulfills the promise of hipstamatic, which everybody seems to love, because it accomplishes the same thing quicker. Hipstamatic makes you pick your design first and then take a picture, which is too slow when life is happening. Instagram flips it and lets you take a picture immediately, then add the filter later. It's a game changer. Free, and highly recommended.”

“Fun free "moblog" app. You can take photos with your iPhone or iPod Touch camera or use images in your device's photo library. There are filters you can apply to the image before posting. The images are posted to the Instagram app's stream for your "followers" to see and comment on. The app also can post to Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Foursquare and Flickr.”
