What is “Family Guy”?

Family Guy is an animated television show created by Seth MacFarlane, and one of those rare few TV series to return to air after cancellation, thanks to popular demand and skyrocketing DVD sales. Set in a fictional Rhode Island town, the story revolves around your standard family of six consisting of a dimwitted father, attractive mother, socially awkward son, unpopular daughter, alcoholic and fairly well-spoken dog, and megalomaniac baby.

“Hilarious and entertaining, by combining opinionated and random jokes that sometimes have no relevance to what is going on, and can rarely be applied to the viewers life. For example Brian the house dog strongly disagrees with Lois being a reporter for FOX because of his strong hatred of FOX's ways of doing things. This relates to me in a realistic way because i stay somewhat up to date on politics and this is something that has stricked me as funny.”

“the episode was funny in the fashion that family guy has been providing for the past couple of seasons. what i mean by this is that while the episode is slightly entertaining it still will never live up to the ingenuity and the brilliance of the first few seasons of family guy. the episode had a few moments when i was ready to fall out of my seat, but those moments were so rare that i was kind of bored the rest of the time. i found myself skipping through the episode to try and find funnier parts.
the episode is a basic fame goes to your head story. brian writes a hugely popular self help book and the success goes to his head. the plot like most family guy episodes is very basic, anyone can find a similar story in any other medium. this is another brian and stewie episode as well. while i always liked the chemistry between the two characters i am getting tired of this dynamic.
family guy has definitely declined in quality in the past couple of years, and it shows with this episode. i find myself robotically family guy when i see a new episode and i normally am disappointed.
if you still find family guy hilarious, watch it, if not then dont waste your time”

“Chris is spending too much time playing with himself, so Peter tries to help him find a new hobby. His new mentor turns out to be a Nazi. And the pedophile saves the day!”

“The person that asked me to review this is gonna be a sad panda and probably wanna give me a big fat panda punch in my puss. Personally I am gonna get a lot of flak for this review just for the fact as I don't like Family Guy as much as most people. Its not that its a bad show its more along the lines of I hate the comedy that they write. I am gonna write a example of a Family Guy joke for you and prove that any average gentlemen with a curly mustache can write humor for this show. Peter: "Hey Lois! I bought 500 Gallons of gas." Lois: "WHY WOULD YOU DO SUCH A THING PETER?! Peter: "Well remember the time when Mad Max and I had to defend the settlers from Lord Humungus in exchange for gas to fill up the Mack truck left in the desert?" (*Cut scene of Peter and Mad Max.) Lois: "Peter, thats from Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior...." Peter: (starts chanting) "TWO MAN ENTER, ONE MAN LEAVES! THESE ARE THE RULES OF THUNDERDOME." (Doorbell rings) (Brian answers the door.) Brian: "Yes?" Lord Humungus: "ALL YOUR GAS BELONGS TO ME!" (Commercial) 'Fin Yep...Just made a giant Mad Max reference in the example of my Family Guy joke. Didn't think it could happen ,but it did. I would say you should already know if you like Family Guy by now. Seasons 1-8 are on the Netflix instant que. So there is no reason to not watch them or 'attempt' to watch them. Netflix: Yes Rent or Buy: Rent first or try to catch a few episodes to determine how the season is. Some episodes can be funny and written well. And then some could drive you to watch a marathon of Bob the builder.”
