“Pretty good movie. Marky Mark plays a boxer. Even though I don't really watch sports in real life, I love sports movies (especially boxing movies). It wasn't the most gripping sports movie in the world, but it's always hard to resist an underdog movie, and this was a decent, though sorta forgettable, one.”

“Didn't realize it was based on a true story, and already was liking the direction it took. Bale and Walberg were great; loved the story.”
“Brilliantly acted, great movie with a strong and memorable story line but personally I just found it a bit slow in places and realised you gotta love the raw boxing spirit thing to get into this movie. I don't have that and struggle to understand the whole 'punch the shit out of each other' mentality. So, there you go and I have nonetheless recommended it as it is very well made as a piece of film.”
“What a great movie. Christian Bale is fantastic. I have no idea what he does to himself for these roles (like he did in "The Machinist") where he lets his body waste away, but it really makes the role feel real. I'm not a big fan of Amy Adams, so I guess that would be my only complaint. The movie is uncomfortable at times, but it is a great story with fantastic acting.”
“This was an interesting movie. Seeing Christian (I can't remember his last name, but he plays the new Batman) has a crack addict is hard to watch simply because he plays the part all too well, and I just can't stand twitchy people. Mark Walberg is alright too, but this role seems typical of him. Almost like he's getting into a rut with the type of movies he's coming out with.”
