“This application seems a bit useless to me, but I suppose if you're serious about writing on your iDevice and don't want to use the touch keyboard (or if you have a disability) this application could work for you. You use the microphone on your iDevice and you are able to speak into it while this application translates your voice to text. This application is based off of a desktop application originally built for the PC called Dragon Naturally Speaking. There is also a Mac version of that app call MacSpeech Dictate.”
“this app is so funny, i leave it on when i am having a convo, its so funny reading it after”
“This app lets you speak to the iphone and it will instantly record your message its way faster than typing so obviously you could use it to text faster. In my experience with using this app you have to talk clearly and you shouldn't talk slang because the program will try to make sense of it and write something similar sounding, but way off topic and sometimes just plain weird. I would recommend this app because it does what its suppose to, but if you use slang a lot when your texting with friends this app may not be for you.”
“Dictating texts/emails/twitter updates/fb updates sounds like a great plan but really... still takes like 5-7 clicks on the iPhone so really...am I saving that much? Is it any safer doing that while driving? Improvements must be made before I fully embrace this. I will say the voice recognition is quite impressive.”
“It is so accurate. Far exceeded my expectations.”
“Astounding app. Unbelievable that this works so well. Can't believe it is free. Wish I could drop the transcription into an email right from the app or that it could save and continue later like in my full edition PC version but nonetheless this app is in my top 5. You say something and dragon transcribes it for you into text. Seems magical ;)”
“You speak, and it types. If you are lazy, this is the app for you.”
“This is one of the best apps of all time on the iPad and iPhone. It cleverly uploads your speech to Dragon, they convert it to text on there servers and send it back to you all automatically.
Only catch is you need to be connected to the internet for it to work.”
“It's really amazing how good the word recognition works. In english and even in german! Much easier to dictate and the correct some errors than typing long sentences on the iPhone's keyboard.”
“Use it when im driving and need to text a long sentence. Yes I'm safe but also lazy.”
“love this, it works pretty well”
“Another one of these iPhone apps that is more to show off to your friends than it is actually useful. Since I use my phone on the go, speaking my SMS messages is somewhat silly and makes me look weird. Still, I can't criticise the accuracy of the speech recognition, it's pretty much flawless.”
“Works great, I love how you can copy whatever you say straight into email or into a text”
“I've tried Dragon a few times since its release a few years ago,. This seem to be the most accurate version yet for the iPhone. Handles long messages really well and is fairly safe to use while driving.”
“This app is pretty cool i guess. Its supposed to type every word you say into the mic but it doesnt do too well of a job. It types a lot of words you didnt say. So make sure you enunicate very well when using this app”
“I downloaded the new Dragon Naturally Speaking iPhone application and have found it useful. Some things that need to occur for it to be more widely accepted and used would be some means of saving a memo for later retrieval or modification (just like the DNS regular version) as well as a website icon with faq's.
I'm wondering what the limitations are for the dictation? How many words, how much time, how much storage/retrieval memory is allotted for the files generated? Does it follow the same conventions as the full version of DNS?
Overall - I like the app and look forward to its future improvements, and like many others, I too have been looking forward to DNS joining the iPhone market - I was just a little disappointed at its first showing.”
“The interface is a little clunky on the iPad; I found constantly having to click on record a little frustrating, and then sometimes it would automatically record, which added to my befuddlement. However, the software was pretty acurate and was even able to semi-acurately interpret the TV commentators during a football game. That's pretty difficult for software to do considering all the background noise from the TV and the rest of the House.”
“the level of speech recognition is incredible! very fast.”
“Really great app!! I would recommend to anyone with an iPhone! I show this to my customer almost everyday lol”
