“Update to the GetGlue mobile app. This app allows you to check-in to tv shows, movies, music and books, plus see what your friends are doing in real-time. On GetGlue.com users can quickly build up their taste profile, get fresh suggestions every week, browse top lists and find taste neighbors. Plus you earn STICKERS! They mail them to you. : )”
“GetGlue is rapidly finding itself with its iPhone app (after slow growth with its various browser plug-ins). It's doing a great job paving the way with content consumption check-ins, (think foursquare but for when you watch or read something) which ultimately lead to conversation and recommendations. The iPhone app handles the check-ins well but i find the rest of the value proposition buried. GetGlue has a lot of potential though and it's worth experimenting with for the same reason Blippy is worth using.”
“When I heard about the concept of GetGlue in Mashable the other day, I was excited to check it out.
GetGlue is a social networking site that works with a Facebook-style "liking" and Blippy-style reviewing. You pick a movie, tv show, music artist, etc, and you like, unlike, favorite, or review on it. The incentive of using this service is that you get great-quality stickers for your profile when you achieve certain accolades. And it doesn't stop there, if you get a certain number of stickers, you can even ask for real-life versions of those to be printed and mailed out to you!
The concept is simple, but it's been done so much that I just didn't find it appealing. And it's all in one place, sadly. I am one of those people who likes to keeps things organized with various sites, not just all-in-one. I keep my liking for Facebook, revewing for Blippy, tweets for Twitter, etc. So I may or may not be using GetGlue so much, but if you are into all-in-one place that gives you stickers, go check it out!”
“hmmm... little slip here as I downloaded the GetGlue IPHONE (not iPad) app, but here's my review of that: pretty clever little app. works with the Website. kinda fun and useless all at the same time. It's free so I like.”
“Another case of "monkey see, monkey do." I'm a sucker for collecting virtual badges, but I think I'll drop out of this checking-in game.”
“I used this app briefly, but decided to stop checking-in to shows/activities. Because the categories are broad, I find that this concept isn't as polished as it could be.”
“Really cool movie review app”
“web app's kinda addicting, iPod Touch app is a little slow and closes once in a while, but I like the idea.”
“Awesome checkin app for things rather than places”
“I still don't exactly know what this does”
“Another social network thing. I should post this purchase to my other social network things. Check.”
“good way to keep up with my glue account”
“love my get glue, just ordered my real stickers!”
“Awesome app to check into tv shows, video games like you would to places on foursquare”
“this seems really cool actually. this is that app that scobel was describing, where people check in to more than just places, but activities. i could see this picking up traction.”
“love Get Glue, just ordered my real life stickers”
“Yet another way to let your friends know what you're watching, reading, or listening to.”
