“Tour of the Necropolis under the St Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. You can see the tomb and the relics of St Peter, it's just unbelievable. Only 100 people are allowed in the necropolis every day so you need to get tickets well in advance. And of course, they don't have a nice online booking tool, so you need to email back and forth with the Ufficio Scavi to make sure you get on that tour. You can choose a tour in English - our guide was great. This is the highlight of our trip to Rome so far (only 2 more days left!).”

@dive_philospher all the usual "things to see"... we've visited the Vatican (and attended the General audience with the Pope this morning), the Castel Sant Angelo, the Coliseum, the countless fountains, the Spanish steps... And today we went to a very disturbing place called the Cappuchin Crypt where the skeletons of 4,000 monks are used as decorations! It's not supposed to be morbid, but when you have 4,000 skulls looking at you, how could it not be? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capuchin_Crypt

@dive_philospher it's an amazing city indeed! If you do go there, ping me: I have really good restaurant and ice cream recommendations, but unfortunately a lot of those places only accept cash so I can't review them on Blippy :-(
