Christopher Limon

2012
Action packed! That's the best way to describe this movie. John Cusack seemed line an odd choice for the lead role here. Or so I thought when I saw the previews. He does a damn good job here. I mean for the story line the movie follows he's a great choice. The effects are top notch. If they convert this movie into 3-D I'd love to see how that would look. it's a long movie too. So be ready to spend a lot of time watching it. It's a good thing the effects are so good. You might get bored otherwise. Not to say the actors or the story boring cause they're not. it just kind of drags on for minute. But the spectacular ending gets your attention back. I'd watch this movie a bunch of times and still watch again just to see if catch something I missed before.
chrismolnar John Cusack always does pretty well... great review!

This has to be the one of the worst productions decribing 2012 and the implications that the year brings. Avoid it.

Superman: The Movie
What can I say? It's my original Superman. Although I didn't see it till the 80's, it was new to me. I was only 2 years old when it was released. I was hooked on the man of steel. As I'm sure most 10 year olds are when they are first exposed to him.

The movies special effects are a mixed bag. Some stand the test of time and most fail it so badly it's laughable. Still the movie has a decent story to stand on so you won't laugh the it off your tv. Christopher Reeves is and always will be Superman to me! Forget all this Dean Caine mess. He owns both of the Clark and Supes. roles.

The story is the planet Krypton is dying so Superman -- as an infant -- is sent to earth to avoid certain death. He crash lands in Americas heartland where a childless couple recovers him. They soon find out he has super strength and hide him for 18 years or so. I'm sure most of you know the story already. Superman goes to metropolis and fights crime. His biggest thorn is Lex Luther here. If you haven't seen this one for a while, check it out!

David Cross: Let America Laugh
David Cross is in my top 5 funniest people to ever walk the earth. His style is so seemless. His comedy kind of feels like someone is just shooting the shit with you. He goes from topic to topic in a way that makes time fly by so fast.

Ok enough praise. This movie isn't a stand up movie in the way that Raw was for Eddie Murphy. You follow David across the country as he goes to little hole in the wall bars. It makes for some funny and awkward moments. Plus you get about as much behind the scenes looks at David as you get actual comedy. It's a good mix. He's pretty brave doing some of the venues he does. Most of the people in these bar are way passed drunk. And are happy to interfere with David's comedy. He's a pro so he makes anyone willing to put themselves in that spot pay for it. So be prepared to sit through about half road trip half stand up comedy!

Killer at Large: Why Obesity...
This sh!t is scary! It truly makes you feel like Americans have zero chance of reversing the obesity crisis. I won't ruin it for you but it really makes you question who the American government is working for. Run, don't walk to see this! And MAKE your kids play (physically, not virtually)!

The Comedians of Comedy: The Movie
I'm a huge fan of Patton Oswalt and Maria Bamford. This movie provides a ton of behind the scenes action. Basically you follow them around as they do shows. I loved getting to see them just being themselves. Oh and Zach Galifianakis and Brian Posehn are in it too. They pretty funny also.

You get a glimpse of how comics come up with material and test different words or phrase a joke a different way. As much as I liked it you may want to make sure you're a fan of at least one of these comics though. I can deffinately see how this could drag on if you don't like someone here. It's not a pick up and play type of movie. Actually I'd go as far as saying you should like at least two of the comics. The constantly screw with eachother.

I'm not sure if these comics are truly friends or not. But there are plenty of awkward moments between all of them. They try to sell how good they "know" eachother. But in some scenes it feels kind of forced. Like, Hmmm... maybe they are acting?

But if you are a fan of these guys you'll no doubt get a rare look into how things are on the road. Enjoy!

Star Trek
This one is tricky. On one hand you have the hardcore fans of the series that'll find so much to complain about. On the other hand you have the people who are completely oblivious to it. Personally I'm somewhere in the middle.

You see I wanted to dress as Kirk this past Halloween. I figured I needed to know his personality among other things. So I bought TOS. I was hooked. It has everything a Sci Fi fan could ever want. Of course you have understand it was all made in the 60's so the special effects are not that special. And of course just the fact that it was filmed in the 60's ensures that some of the dialogue could potentially offend people.

Now, since I really hadn't had time to 'bond' with TOS. I guess that still kind of left me raw. In a sense that I never really had time to cement my feelings about it. So when I realized that they released a new movie I had to see it. I think the back story is necessary so you can understand why I feel the way I feel about this movie.

As for this movie. I Loved it! I've watched it like 7 times. I have it on my phone. I replied to a question about this movie earlier. The question was how does the movie compare to TOS. I believe it compares very well. Now it's hard to give exact reasons since doing so will ruin plotlines. I will say that biggest gripe has to do with the way they introduce characters. They practically call eachother by name every time. It gets annoying fast. Most videogame movies do this as well. What bothers me is that instead of saying, "What are you doing?". They'll say "Kirk, What are you doing?". I know it sounds nit picky. But that bothers me.

The movie has a ton of action, the effects give you goose bumps at times. And I really like how you care about the characters. I don't mean hardcore Trek fans type of care. I mean most people who watch this as a Sci Fi movie first rather than a Trek film and are willing to pay attention will feel some loss over the course of the film. It will give you a hell of a ride and leave you wanting more. I for one can't wait for the next update. Enjoy!

HeyThereAllison Chris Pine; Sexy!
Jessica12385 I loved this movie. I just had to see the remake of this classic series. I think all the characters did really well and the chemistry between Spock (Quinto) and Kirk (Pine) was awesome. Karl Urban did a great job as Bones too! Great movie.
amyuhrich I love the originals, and I also loved this movie. I mean, big time. I saw this several times with different people, which almost never happens with me.
Galaxy Quest
Funny, Funny and more Funny. This movie feels kind of like an inside joke. I mean people that watch Star Trek will get a little more enjoyment here. IMO. Allen does a great "Captain". As does the rest of the crew. If you're not following me imagine if we got a glimpse of the crew of the Enterprise "as themselves". That would pretty much sum up the plot of this film. Of course there is a twist to it. Oh and Dwight from "The Office" is in it too. Enjoy!

beverlynoelle Oh my GOD THIS MOVIE IS AMAZING. By Grapthar's hammer...
impulsebuyer As my middle school math teacher once said "This movie has it all. You can laugh with Tim Allen or if you get bored, stare at Winnona Rider's boobs." true story
Aomrep Lol. Winnona Ryder isn't in this movie. You're thinking of Sigourney Weaver. I kind of had a crush on Winnona since I can remember so I WOULD have seen this movie upon release. Still, good call on the boob-age.
impulsebuyer Oh that's right, my mistake. Well, add that quote to the list of things Winnona stole :)
Aomrep Including my heart? I know it's corny. I couldn't resist.
The Majestic
Pretty good movie. I've known about this movie for a long time but never really had any interest in it. I decided to see what it was about. I'm glad I did. It's kind of long but you never really get bored. Carey does a good job with something that doesn't require him to talk out of his a**. Not that I hate his comedies, I love them. Its just nice to see a different side. I always thought it was corny when previews describe themselves as "A feel good movie" but that seems to work in this case. If you like Carey I think you'll be satisfied here. Enjoy!

riddlefish I guess it's nice to have Jim Carrey showing some range, but I really have a hard time taking him seriously after all the, as you put it, "ass talking" he did, haha. Although, if I had to choose one serious film he did, I'd say Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind is my favorite. Have you seen it?
Aomrep Not yet. I'll have read up on it a bit. I'll try not to spoil it for myself, of course. But no offense to the sensitive people reading this. I always thought SotSm was his, quote "retar* movie"... I got that 'description' from Tropic Thunder. But I'll look into it.
Kimjongilia
A great look into a place that shouldn't exist. Especially in modern society. If you want to see how a socialest country that takes socialism to the very extreme meaning of the word operates, this gives an unbelievable look there. Lots of sad stories. Enjoy!
riddlefish Lol. Tell me Kimjongilia is a place in this movie. :D
George Lopez: Why You Crying?
I love George Lopez. This was very funny. Just be careful, if you're doing it the way I did then be ready to sit through some of the same jokes from Americas Mexican. Actually most of this special has lots of stuff from other specials too. It was still funny stuff no doubt. But it was somewhat dissappointing when, let's say 40 to 50% of the stuff I'd already heard. So if you've seen any of Georges specials chances are you've heard some this act before. Still... Like I said I think he's one of the funniest people alive. I enjoyed it very much. I'm sure there are things here that you haven't yet. Enjoy!
· movie from Netflix
Aomrep That's some of his best work! The George Lopez show is really funny and original. I wish they still showed it. You will not be disappointed. This is all under the assumption you know a little about George and what he's about. You may not like it if you've never seen him before. It's a bit different from other sitcoms.
Kevin Hart: Seriously Funny
I've seen Kevin a few times. He's always funny. I think he even funnier in this special. Do not hesitate to watch this. I think it's around the 40 minute mark when talks about men and women arguments. That has to be one of funniest bits I've heard! Enjoy!

6 Pcs Hard Case Cover Skin For Apple I Phone 4 G Os 4 4th
Cheap plastic. But if used with the understanding that these cases are strictly for optical pleasure you'll get more out of them. Not all are created equal. I got a six pack assortment. Some looked great while some were simply horrible. Which sucks cause I wanted the green one but the apple logo on the back was off center and smudged. But the pink one my wife got seemed perfect. Maybe you'll have better luck. Still for the $5 or $7 I spent it wasn't too big of a deal. Enjoy!

Star Trek: First Contact
I wanted to see this one the most out of all the older Trek films. You see I'm a huge time travel buff. So I was eager to see how they would explain the concept of time travel on film. I really enjoyed this a lot. We finally get to meet cochrane here. Great. The only detractor for me was that I know nothing of TNG so I was worried I wouldn't care about the crew of the enterprise. And I was right... to an extent. I Didn't completely hate the crew, entirely. I just didn't know them and this movie operates on the assumption that you know who these people are and there history. Still I got a lot out of it. As always a must see for any Trek fans. For anyone else especially time travel fans the movie kind of treat time travel as an easy thing to overcome. The crew actually follows Klingons, I think, into the past and then seems believeably surprised. I don't know, that is what attracted me to the film and just felt like a non issue overall. Enjoy!

fnoo I like the way that several reviews put it at the time: they ditched all the boring cast members down on Earth, and left the interesting ones up on the ship to carry the main plot.

Have you seen films 2-4? That trilogy, plus First Contact, is pretty much all you need.
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
I've only recently began to enjoy the great Star Trek for myself. This movie sets as a kind of continuation of one of the early episodes. It does a fair job getting it story across. It feels forced at times. In other instances it had my utmost attention. But I have to say this film and some of the other Trek films don't really hold a candle to most of the original episodes. The special effects don't seem to be very special at all. Which in my shallow opinion hurts this film a lot. The story has Kahn still pissed at Kirk after, I don't know, 15 or 25 years after there first encounter. Which seems kind of dumb cause after what Kahn put the Enterprise through Kirk should have killed him. But Kirk being the kind of guy he was put Kahn and his people on a planet to have for themselves. And so this sets the tone for this movie. Seems like Kahn would have moved on after all that time. But he didn't and somehow Zulu ends up on the planet Kahn is on and all hell breaks lose. If you're a Star Trek fan it's a must see, for everyone else. Stay far away. Enjoy!

Management
I watched this movie only because I had to. My wife will not watch Sci-Fi unless she is backed into a corner. This movie provided that corner. The movie itself turned out to be pretty entertaining. It's got some recognizable actors and a story line that didn't make want to tear my leg hair out. Aniston is a traveling saleswoman and meets a young man whom she feels sorry for and in turn gives him sex. The poor kid falls deeply in love with her and follows her around the country. There are some great scenes here. Especially when that kid gets his Asian sidekick later in the film. All in all not a bad waste of an hour and a half. Of course it made my choice, Star Trek 2009 all the more enjoyable. I think my wife might actually just hate to watch movies with me in general. Is it cause I get her to scratch my back everytime I'm enjoying my films? Who knows. Enjoy!
Cloak & Dagger
This movie was set in my hometown, so it's obviously mandatory cinema here. That's actually only half true. Anyway, I've seen this movie described as a sort of 80's Spy Kids. Although I've never seen the latter that description seems correct. The kid has a very "intense" imagination that includes death and government. Dabney Coleman got suckered into playing two roles here and does a great job keeping them separate. Although they seem the same, on paper at least. FYI the movie is basically an Atari commercial. So unless you live where I do, I see no reason to be forced into watching kids playing make belief for almost 2 hours. I will say this, the kid from E.T. does an above average job here. And only slightly made me try and lodge someones memory of who he was by giving this movie as a hint for remembering his name. It didn't work. Enjoy!
