Motherhood
Wonderfully funny yet emotional movie. Definitely a "chick flick".
· movie from Netflix
D.E.B.S.
OK movie. A bit over the top, but I was expecting that from the description. I guess I could say that it's worth a watch, but probably not something anybody would want to actually own. Fair amount humor contained within.
Santa Buddies
Very fun and enjoyable movie for the whole family.
· tv season from Netflix
Preacher's Kid
Excellent movie. While it is a bit "preachy" the story is good, and I think most will enjoy it.
Adventures in Odyssey
Kids enjoyed it, I didn't watch it.
· tv season from Netflix
chrismolnar used to watch this all the time as a kid...
Valentine's Day
Funny, very funny, yet touching. If you are easily moved, emotionally, by movies this one will swing you to both extremes and back again.
chrismolnar is it as good as love, actually? i feel like that's the standard for these kinds of movies.
Bag of Crap
Always a great buy! If you don't know what this is, I'd suggest you familiarize yourself with the item and definitely make an attempt to purchase this when it becomes available...

FeMaster This was one of my better halls, but not sure what to do with the stuff???

Items:
1) McGladrey PGA Team Championship backpack (with a single strap) - might be another name for these, but that's what I'm calling it.
2) 3-Pack of Mini Aqua Globes
3) Box (4 units) of Philips SRU2103/27 Universal Remotes
4) Box (3 units) of Gold's Gym Fitness Tote Bags (WGGTOTEB07)
FeMaster Both the remotes and the Fitness Totes are the low-end, really cheapies. Doubt I could get anything for them. AquaGlobes are spoken for, so might the backpack be. Really doesn't leave me much... lol
amyuhrich So is this like a mystery box? Because that's kind of awesome and alluring. But probably not very practical.
FeMaster @amyuhrich Yeah, you could say that. Basically for $8 ($3+$5 Ship) they send you box of unknown items in unknown quantities. Some people get really nice "crap" like gaming systems or TVs. They are extremely rare, but it does happen... I think out of all the 'mystery' boxes offered on the net, these (offered by woot.com) are the most likely to net you something good.
Cake Boss
Don't know, something the wife watches...
· tv season from Netflix
girlfriday Think someday you'll replace girlfriend with wife? (No pressure.) ;)
riddlefish Lol. Hey look everyone, cake!
VeggieTales
Not much to say about this, a childrens rendition of 'It's a Wonderful Life.'

riddlefish Aw, I love Veggie Tales songs, haha. Memories.

"Oh wheeeeeeeeeere is my hairbrush??" ;p
VeggieTales: St. Nicholas
Enjoy the video. Kids loved it as well. Very good story about the true origins of 'Santa Claus', told in a manor that children can understand.

Mio C720T 4.3” GPS with Text to Speech, Bluetooth and 2MP Camera
Bought this for a friend. It was an OK unit in it's day, largest screen at the time. It was plagued by a number of bugs in it's operation, and was a bit difficult to get the controls down; overly confusing compared to other models.
ThermoHawk 400L IR Thermometer
Exceptional little thermal device, very accurate. Has a white LED pen-light at the opposite end. Only drawback with this one is that it has a 1:1 ratio...
Philips Digital FM Transmitter
Best little FM transmitter I've purchased, ever...
Heroes
I give it a maybe because the series was great, BUT all of us Heroes fans got the shaft in the end; talk about leaving a person hanging! NBC really pissed me off with this one. They left the show on a cliff-hanger at the end of season 4, and then canceled it! WTF NBC!

They were supposed to create a 2-hour follow-up to close out the series, which never happened, they canceled that as well. I've never been more disappointed with the handling of a TV series as the way NBC handled this one...

Twisted
Exceptional movie with many twists. Keeps you guessing as to "who did it"... Definitely recommended!
Pizza
I liked this to an extent, wife didn't care so much for it. I feel it has a pretty good story, though some may not. It's definitely not a top-notch movie, and drags on a bit at different points through the movie.

It does have an ending that leaves you saying, "huh?" seems to end abruptly, without accomplishing anything but telling a brief story that seems to pick up and end in the middle of a larger story that is never told.
· tv season from Netflix
chrismolnar this sounds like it would make me very hungry...
The Stepford Wives
Older movie. I thought it was OK. Wife liked it better than I.
· movie from Netflix
fnoo I'd say this new version is certainly glossy, but it lacks the gnawing menace of the original.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Stepford_Wives_(1975_film)
FeMaster Now, I didn't say old, I said "older". I'd consider 6-years an older movie. It's certainly not considered a "new release".

I've not seen the original, not too sure I'd be interested in putting myself through such an ordeal again...
fnoo I dunno. I tend to consider anything after 1998 or so fairly new. Filmmaking hasn't changed all that much since the mid-1990s. If you're just speaking from a retail perspective, then I get it.
girlfriday Bette Midler!
FeMaster Yeah, from the retail perspective.

My local video rental store, Family Video, (does anybody go to a rental place anymore?) considers things a "New Release" until a movie is like a year old, sometimes more...

Personally, if it's more than a few months (I'd say about 4,) it should be moved to the "Nearly New" section, and then after about a year, it should go to the general floor area; cheap rentals. :-)
fnoo I hear you. I kind of miss video stores. When I was a kid, I would often wander through the aisles of the Sounds Easy (and occasionally Home Vision) Video in my home town, peering at all the macabre painted box art to the horror films.

That's another thing I miss -- proper painted movie posters.
Garfield's Pet Force
Kids loved it, multiple times. I've not watched it.
· movie from Netflix
The Princess and the Frog
Kids and loved it. Unfortunately, I was busy that evening, and didn't get to see very much of it. The bit I did see looked good though.

riddlefish I thought it was pretty decent. The firefly cracked me up. I'd say join in if the kids watch it again. :)
Daffy Duck's Quackbusters
Kids loved it, I didn't personally watch it...
