JaimeTown @K as a beginner tea connoisseur what should I get?
k Tips for beginners:
- Never buy bagged tea, always loose
- Never buy flavored/scented tea
- Experiment w/different tea types: oolong, chinese green, japanese green, pu-erh, black, white
- Buy from a variety of stores, try as many teas as possible
- Pay attention to steeping temps and times, over-steeped tea gets bitter/nasty fast
mager Awesome commentary
thathoo @hmcfletch you will have (tea)company soon at the blippy office! although whenever i think tea, i think indian or british - slight weird to see so many 'US Americans' like tea!
barryorlov Sorry, I have to have peach oolong tea, but I agree never to buy flavored green teas EVER.
barryorlov Long steep times definitely kill your green tea, my personal method is simple.

-boil water
-remove from burner and pour boiling water into desired cup
-let sit (just the water) in your cup for 2 minutes
-add water to your IntuiTEA (in my case) containing a heaping teaspoon of green tea (I like gyokuro)
-steep 3 minutes
-enjoy the perfect cup of green tea

I do this 3 times a day.
