Why does this sound so incredibly familiar but I can't place it? Was this based on a book by R.L. Stine or something?
girlfriday
I really liked the book. Did you see HOLES? Really dug that one.
amyuhrich
So was I right? Because I'm still confused. Holes was the one with Shia LaBeouf, right? That one was pretty good.
girlfriday@amyuhrich - How to Eat Fried Worms was a book. I don't think RL Stine wrote it. Holes was written by the guy that did Sideways Stories from Wayside School. Remember those?

Can't say that I do, I just remember reading How to Eat Fried Worms as a kid (I think). Turns out Thomas Rockwell wrote it.

The demoscene is a northern European phenomenon where genius kids get together and code things in assembly. They have competitions to crush as much information as possible, in as creative and technically amazing a format as possible, into as small a space as possible. You'll see demonstrations of things you've never seen or heard before, packed into fewer bytes than a written description of the program.
TypicalGam3r@MizzBlaze is the only person I really agree with. I don't know about demon samurai's without limbs, sorry.

Both of those things sound amazing. I've never been into manga, but I'll try to get ahold of Dororo. There isn't a documentary or something out there about the demoscene, is there?

I actually don't know. On research, it looks like someone is trying to put one together:
