I used before iOS4 gave me spell check. But I do still use it some. Maybe I just have a weak vocab :-/

I stopped using it when the ads started to slow down page loads so egregiously that it was quicker to track down a dictionary and look things up by hand. These days, I find that Google knows what I'm doing whenever I plop in an unusual word for spelling or definition.
Google ain't so great as a thesaurus, though.
