Oooh, that looks fun! It's like they disguised it as an art kit to make me appreciate it more. That marketing strategy totally works.

The big spring green marker is easily my favorite, and my lady friend favors the purple. I use white board markers constantly, but these two colors in particular surprised me.
Excluding the black one, the small markers are useless, they seem "watery" somehow.

Hm; good to know. I love purple and green as a color pairing, personally - I'm guessing they'll end up on the board together a lot :)

Gorey is so amazing. Did you know he was roommates with Frank O'hara in college?
fnoo
I grew up on Gorey. It's a crime what PBS has done to the Mystery! intro; for two and a half decades, that was one of the few things to remain the same. Except for that one big change.
girlfriday@fnoo -- OH EM GEE! That animation is so dope! Great find!!!!
fnoo
Not so much a find. It was a PBS staple for around 30 years, until just a year or two ago. But yeah, great stuff.

Too bad that Gorey has croaked; it would be neat to see an extended animated movie or series in his style. I suppose his work is easy enough to pastiche, but without his involvement I dread things devolving too far into Burton/Gaiman influenced fanwank.
Trent Reznor's video for The Perfect Drug also draws heavily on Gorey.
Or the fact that you felt the need to comment on my lack of review?
My brevity was a response to blippy harassing me to review all my silly little purchases.
