Starbucks Card Mobile App
I go to Starbucks every day, and yesterday I was the first person ever in my store to pay with the mobile app. The staff is trained to accept it, and the transaction was flawless. If they keep the balances up to date in the app, I will love it; during the trial they didn't, and I couldn't tell what was left on my card.
If I could pay by mobile at the car wash and the gas station and all the other places I go regularly and not have to carry a wallet full of cards, I'd be thrilled.

This is just a tiny spec compared to what people do in Asia. In certain East Asian countries people regurarly use their cell phones to buy many things from markets and shopping locations. They even use their cell phone to buy bus passes or use it like a bus or train card so they don't have a fee to pay. The amount accumulates on the phone and they pay it monthly (at least it was like this when I heard about it.)

I take this trip from Phx to SFO monthly at least, and I LOVE Southwest. THey make flying almost a good experience.

Nice. :D The very best airline experience I've had was Swiss air--they throw chocolate and booze at you every ten minutes and it's fantastic. I hope they haven't changed... What's your favorite airline?

I am hoping Pinboard will live if Delicious dies. I got it because Leo laPorte went to it after Yahoo announced whatever they announced (death? Sale?) of Delicious. It has a clever model -- it charges a fraction of a center per total user, so the earlier you get in, the better, which creates a sense of urgency. The interface looks fine, and the imports from Delicious were easy, but I don't know yet how ultimately useful it is. Needs a toolbar and buttons.
