Ryan Ozawa

Father, husband, and web geek in paradise.

saunieindiego Input Input Input !
fnoo Fisher Stevens' character really hasn't dated well.
spacepants @shewalksdogs you beat me to it!

JOHNNY FIVE ALIIIVEEE
saunieindiego @spacepants I loved this movie!
girlfriday I remember seeing this when I was a kid and LOVING it.
Reeder for iPad App
Would be my favorite newsreader for the iPad, if it didn't crash so often.
Path™ App
Elegantly designed with a unique model. As someone who wants to share everything with everyone, though, the built-in constraints seem silly.
Square App
Revolutionary. And free. Helped my business partner and I do brisk business at two craft fairs. Had we been 'cash only' as many vendors were, we would've done less than half the business we did.
· app from iTunes
dive_philospher ohh do tell more. how does this work? any app that helps the pockets is MONEY in my book (no pun).
gkruis pun.
Instapaper App
One of the most recommended apps among my geek friends. But I find I can't even keep up with the hundreds of feeds I already follow, let alone get around to a "read this later" library.
· $4.99 app from iTunes
Flickpad App
A neat way to browse photos on Facebook and Flickr, developed by a Hawaii company.
360 Panorama App
For a quick panorama, a fun gimmick. But the images are too wonky for anything more than casual sharing. With more time and $2.99, AutoStitch can give you almost professional grade panoramas.

The Kids Are All Right
A great film with great performances.
· movie from Netflix
Calculator Pro for iPad Free App
It's ridiculous that Apple didn't include its standard Calculator app (which comes with every iPhone) on the iPad. As a free app, this works reasonably well.
Friendly - Facebook Browser App
Seems ridiculous that Facebook isn't releasing its own app, but if you need one, this is the way to go. I still find myself simply launching Safari and browsing Facebook over the web more often than not.
Game for Cats App
My cat wasn't interested, and I'm thankful. The app was designed to trick your cat in to spending your money via in-app purchases.
Pushing Daisies
A fantastic series that we completely missed because we were wholly consumed with "LOST." Like many great shows, it was too unique to last, and was canceled before its time. Definitely worth checking out... and I have my fingers crossed for the comic book sequel!
· tv season from Netflix

gkruis I heard somewhere they might be airing this again soon.
girlfriday The production design is so incredible!!!! How many seasons did it last?
Geocaching App
I used to geocache with an expensive, dedicated Garmin GPS handheld. Now it's an app alongside other apps that help me explore my everyday world. A bit pricey for what it does, but... it's hard to put a price on the great outdoors.
· $9.99 app from iTunes
saunieindiego Isn't technology wonderful?
Slide Speller App
A word puzzle game by a Hawaii developer. Think "Scramble" with movable tiles. The design is pretty rough, but it's still brainy fun.
· app from iTunes
TiltShift Generator - Fake Miniature App
I love photo apps, but the 'tilt shift' effect is one that never really spoke to me. Somehow filters are fun to me, but faking a specific lens effect makes me want to pick up a real camera. Still, it seems to be in the arsenal of many of my friends, so I'll give it a try.

An Education
Easily one of my favorite movies of 2010. With a daughter that just turned 13, it resonated. And I think I might watch this with her.
· movie from Netflix

dive_philospher ohh i've been meaning to see this! alfred molina is dope!
gkruis Sarsgaard is dope, too.
New Trent Extreme Pack IMP1000 11000mAh External Battery pack for Apple ...
Bought this for an unexpected trip to Seoul, and it kept me powered up all day. It'll be a lifesaver at Comic Con!
· $79.95 from Amazon
saunieindiego How hard was it to get tickets to CC? I live here in SD, and still don't have them yet.
hawaii We bought tickets to 2011 while still at SDCC 2010. Can't believe what a mess getting public ticket sales going has been.
Hawaii Aloha App
Brings the extensive original content generated by one of Hawaii's most web savvy travel firms together in one place. If you love Hawaii, totally worth the price: free!
OneNote App
In a world where Evernote exists, there doesn't seem to be much point. But, I used to love OneNote when I used a first-generation HP tablet computer almost a decade ago. Thought I'd give it another shot. Instead, the app doesn't even work.
Filmspotting App
A favorite podcast of my wife and I, and once a week is not enough. Bought it for the "extras," and they've been fun!
· $1.99 app from iTunes
beverlynoelle So what is this and why haven't I heard of it?!
hawaii Filmspotting is one of many podcasts that have a dedicated app to add a little more multimedia and easier access to archives... as well as make a little money. The Filmspotting app is $2.99.
