Brothers
Great movie, good storyline. Jake Gyllenhaal's character pretty much steps up and is there for his brother's(Tobey Macguire) Wife(Natalie Portman) and kids when after being sent to Afghanistan he goes missing(taken hostage) but his family was told and assumes he was killed. Until after becoming pretty comfortable with their new found life the family recieve a call that the father/husband/soldier/brother is still alive and returning home. It pretty much goes crazy from there. A must watch.

chrismolnar this looks way intense... might have to check it out.
impulsebuyer Eh, Jake Gyllenhaal was a good bro for the most part, but he kinda crossed the line, in my opinion. Wouldn't want my sibling to swoop in on my widow if I were out the way...
amyuhrich I really enjoyed this, but for two things: the ending, and the misleading trailer (not the movie's fault). I was led to believe it was mostly about forbidden love with the angry, still-alive war vet husband plot twist - but in the end they try to swing it as a movie about said war vet's mental state, and none of the relationships (between any of the characters) get resolved onscreen. Which is odd for the amount of screen time they get. It was like they couldn't decide between two separate plots.
amyuhrich That said, Toby Maguire was EXCELLENT in this, especially in his portrayal of a man on the verge of mental breakdown. In fact, most of the acting was superb. The little girl who played the eldest daughter was phenomenal - I almost couldn't believe how good she was, especially when her lip quivered in the backyard after she realized her father was never going to be the same. Also, the balloon scene was excellent.
jluvm3 Agreed and agreed!
Grown Ups
Loved this one...super funny. I'm a sucker for a good comedy I guess. But you really can't go wrong with an Adam Sandler movie.

jluvm3 That is a tough one....it's a toss up Big Daddy and 50 first dates
impulsebuyer I'd say Click was my favorite... that movie had it all
krystalmariah That is true, you can never go wrong with an Adam Sandler movie. The first one I saw was Billy Madison and I was hooked!
jluvm3 Click was a very good movie...that is why it's soooo hard to choose a favorite of his!
Yea Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison is really what started it all for him loooove those but even those weren't the first movies I have seen him in.
gkruis Punch Drunk Love.
gkruis But that isn't vintage Sandler, really. Billy Madison, then. Anger Management, too!
The Romantics
I assumed that this movie was going to be good considering the actors in it (Katie Holmes, Josh Duhamel and Anna Paquin) & the discription sounded appealing, but I was mildly dissapointed. It just wasn't good quality at all.

Daybreakers
I thought this movie was very good, and no not because of all the vampire hype...though I'm sure that does help! It is definately worth watching at least once!!! It is about a new world with Vampires everywhere and in the opposite of our life the humans are the ones in hiding to avoid being "farmed" for their blood, but the main Vamp (Ethan Hawke) does not appear to want to be a Vampire and it seems he feels sympathy for the farmed humans and those in hiding as well. He pretty much is a Scientist Vamp looking for a cure to become human again and for everyone else to be as well seeing as they are running out of humans and therefore running out of their blood supply.
chrismolnar good to see a serious vampire movie every now and then.
Year One
Jack Black and Michael Cera in my own personal opinion are 2 of the funniest actors, however my mind was wandering a ton during this movie..just couldn't hold my attention as it was not that interesting...or funny.

impulsebuyer Did you catch a bunch of the biblical references? That's what I focused on the whole time.
Killers
Loved it.

faestina Haha this movie was so cute. Loved the pairing between the two!
mlevesque It's a cute move, funny at most parts. As for the plot, did not make sense, watch with girlfriends for a fun movie night, nothing to drag the boyfriend into watching (he'd get bored and complain about how the story line was missing)
kinsey162 moved to fast for me. i was like. whaaaat how did we get here? all the time.
girlfriday Katherine Heigl is underrated. She makes awesome of mediocre.
Our Family Wedding
Really cute, and funny...and not necessarily for just women (just because it's a "wedding" movie)
