Formula One Season Review 2011
Fairly standard official review of the 2011 F1 season. I do wish that they used the BBC commentators rather than the voice they do use. He's just a bit monotone. They made some editing choices that I wouldn't have made, but I am aware that they can't show everything! Worth getting is you are an enthusiast.
Live At Celtic Connections
Richard Thompson is one of the greatest and most underrated guitar players and songwriters of the last 40 years. This is his most recent dvd release. It is certainly the highest quality video footage of Richard Thompson currently available. It is worth buying just for that alone.

People who have his most recent album 'Dream Attic' will be familiar with the first set. He plays the album almost in its entirety. The second set is more of a career collection.

This dvd is just fabulous.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice
I wasn't sure what I would think of this film. It clearly has tones of Harry Potter about it. A young boy who does not know he was a wizard encounters a teacher and eventually has to fight the evil wizard in order to save the world. Despite all of that, I couldn't help but enjoy it.
My Last Five Girlfriends
I found this boring at best.
· tv season from Netflix
You Again
A sweet little twist on the jilted high school comedy. A girl who was teased relentlessly at high school but has turned her life around, finds out that her brother will be marrying the girl who caused all that trauma. A great cast with brilliant cameo by Betty White!
The Men Who Stare at Goats
I couldn't get past the first 30 minutes of this. The book was great, but the film is meh!
Big
I watched this with my niece today and I think that I enjoyed it more than she did! The story of a young boy who wishes to be big, only to have that wish come true. Similar stories have been attempted since, but none have managed to come close to the sweetness of this film. Really enjoyed it!
Anger Management
The whole way through this movie I found myself thinking how much I love Jack Nicholson and how much I dislike Adam Sandler! Not a brilliant movie really.
Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired
This documentary covers the life of Roman Polanski from his arrival in the United States through to his leaving days before his sentencing on sexual assault charges. It also touches briefly on his childhood. This is well worth a watch if you are interested in Polanski, in film or in legal corruption.
What a Girl Wants
Sweet Rom Com about a teen going to England to hunt down her long lost father, a Lord in the British aristocracy. Struggling to fit in whilst teaching the Lord a few life lessons along the way.

Grown Ups
Typical Adam Sandler stuff. I think this guy is going to have to reinvent himself somehow because I am getting pretty bored of his movies. This was juvenile with no redeeming features apart from one funny scene involving arrows.
The Hunt for Red October
Sean Connery and Alec Baldwin face up in the first of the 'Jack Ryan' series of movies. This movie is probably remembered more for the shocking Russian accents. Put that to one side and enjoy the movie for what it is. It's pretty good.
Roger Ebert's Great Movies App
Roger Ebert reviews movies better than anyone I have ever come across. In this app he reviews his favourite films. A lot of these reviews never appeared in print as other movies had to take precedence as far as newspaper space was concerned. You can click on a movie if you would like to remember to watch it later, or even add it directly to your netflix queue.

Stupidity
Documentary on the concept of Stupidity. I thought this had great potential but in my opinion it turned pretty stupid itself.
