Angels & Demons › How faithful to the book is the movie? Should I read the book before the movie or vise-versa?

never read the book but the movie was good - not as powerful as The Da Vinci Code IMO, which was worth seeing even after reading the book...

I have no idea. I haven't read the book. haha

Angels & Demons is probably one of the only films that closely follows the book, but just like any other book-based film, there will be gaps. I would recommend you watch the movie first to get it out of the way, then solely focus on the book because that's where the details are. Although the ending may get ruined, it's still a thrill to read the adventure that Robert Langdon went to save the papacy.

I had read the Da Vinci Code, but I hadn't read Angels and Demons when I saw the movie. It's pretty easy to follow without having read the book.

After seeing the movie, I didn't feel a great need to read the book either. It was a fun action movie, but I didn't think the story was as compelling as it was in the Da Vinci Code.

As with any Movie adapted from a book, Hollywood will take some artistic liberties. I highly recommend reading the book first. You won't be able to put it down. And it is always a good idea to experience the original form of something before seeing it's newest rendition.

I loved the book and liked the movie. There were details left out in the movie form that I really enjoyed in the book form. I agree with jlipp8. Read the book first.
