The Lazy Intellectual by Richard J. Wallace
I'm can be pretty fanatical about my trivia, and very self conscious about things that I do not know a lot about (philosophy, politics, etc). This book has a great breakdown - each chapter devoted to a different topic - with everything from an introduction to the different styles of music, to the greek classics, to world religions.

Carcassonne App
Definitely worth the slightly steep pricetag. It's a highly portable version of one of my favorite board games, and it's easy to sit around a lunch table and play with friends.

Mystery Team
Donald Glover is brilliant. This first Derrick Comedy feature is a great debut.
A State of Mind
A very rare look into the North Korean mindset. It's really interesting to see just how devoted to this cause these young girls are.
Blackgirls - Happy Tree Friends
I bought this by mistake. I was looking for an album by the Black Girls. ;-;

Louis C.K.
I was at this taping, and I never stopped laughing.
· tv season from Netflix
Sleep Cycle alarm clock App
Allows for detailed sleep tracking, for fellow dataheads, this is especially interesting because you get the most accurate reads of your sleep and it predicts the best time to wake you based on your REM levels.
· $0.99 app from iTunes
WhatsApp Messenger
Free text messaging from your iPhone - ideal for those of us with limited texting plans.

I had to buy this in an auction. But the sucker is finally mine.
PBS for iPad App
Rotating episodes of Antiques Roadshow, NOVA specials, and Documentaries. Ideal for anyone who is especially fond of Public Access TV.
Cartoon Network Video App
Some of us like to watch our cartoons on the go. While not as robust in it's programming as the HBOgo app, you can still watch about 5 episodes from each individual show, with rotating programming. Again, free, and good for those who go without the luxury of cable.
Mockingjay (The Final Book of The Hunger Games) by Suzanne Collins
I initially purchased the audio book just as something to listen to on my long drive from VA to CO. But I got hooked. I'm admittedly kind of a sucker for female heroines, and this dystopian kick pulled me in quickly. Recommended for a lazy weekend.
· $17.99 book from Amazon
HBO GO App
Get this Application if you are a fan of any HBO show. The entirety of each show is available streaming for free, as well as all movies which are slated to be shown that month. Benefits also include advance previews of episodes for shows on air.
Good Hair
Possibly one of my favorite documentaries of all time. Chris Rock does an intense study on Black Hair and the Black Hair industry, talking to anyone from pop culture icons to Indian monks about the rising cost of hair care for African American women and whether or not the imposition of a European Look is bad for African American women in general.
Thirst
Korean Vampire movie, need I say more?
Street Fight
Documentary about a political campaign for mayorship of Newark, NJ - which has had the same mayor for 25 years. The younger, better educated democratic party option struggles to upset the current corrupt administration.
Daria: The Complete Animated Series
This show is my personal ideal. Cynical, outcast teenager belittles everyone with her superior intelligence and general indifference. Recommended to anyone who was a teenager in the 2000's.

Wizards of the Coast Guillotine
If you're into tabletop gaming with your friends, this is the best introductory game to play with them. You are playing an executioner during the French Revolution, and you are to behead the nobles, worth varied points depending on their level of fame. All cards have easy instructions on them, making gameplay easy to follow and easy to teach.
· $12.70 from Amazon
Please Vote For Me
Documentary about democratic practices (voting for class hall monitor) in a Chinese school. It's incredible the lengths that parents are going through in order to give their children an edge. The politicking abilities of these 9 year olds is also incredible.
