National Geographic Live: "The Last Lion" at Angelika Film Center
TERRIBLE!!!! Worst Groupon purchase EVER.
Have you seen Relentless Enemies? This is the exact same footage just retold with a different story. They even create new characters out of the lions they used in Relentless Enemies, so either one or both of these films is totally made up.
I realize they are "dramatic" documentaries, but creating a new story out of footage you used for a story 5 years ago seems like National Geographic is milking me. AND, at the end they asked for a donation!
Egh - isn't there enough about lions to tell a true story rather than make something up!?
Oh - and please get rid of Jeremy Irons.. yuck.

Dude... I used to love Relentless Enemies - I own it on DVD. But now I don't know what's up and what's down. If you like Relentless Enemies, you'd be infuriated watching The Last Lions. It's all lies. You feel like National Geographic exploited lions, lied, and stole money from you.

Do you remember the female lion with the blind eye? Well in The Last Lions, they say she lost the eye in a fight with a lioness from another pride. Also, no mention of her being a cub killer as portrayed in Relentless Enemies. She is portrayed as the leader of a "pride" of lionesses who hunts down a lioness and her cubs. Totally contradictory!
