Petzl E89 PD Tactikka XP Headlamp, Desert
super bright for those dark gulu, uganda nights without power
· $40.99 from Amazon
saunieindiego How long do you get to be in Uganda?
kevinfairchild Nice. I came close to getting one of these because I love Petzl, but I just didn't need all of the colored lenses and stuff. If my Princeton Tec ever dies on me, I'll probably consider one of these. I take it you've had good experiences so far with this one?
thetyson indefinitely :)
thetyson absolutely. i like the red lens because doesn't wake up my wife on those early morning runs out to the farm.
saunieindiego I 'awesomed' your (indefinite) stay in Uganda. What are you doing there?
Amazon Web Services
pretty cheap for data backup
amyuhrich How does this compare to something like Dropbox?
thetyson honestly, i haven't done the cost comparison. i've been using www.jungledisk.com to back up media files for a while and i'm happy with it. i'd guess AWS becomes too expensive when your bandwidth grows -- if you try to stream your vids from the cloud or something. right now, as a backup only, i pay about $0.67/mo to store something like 10GB at AWS.
amyuhrich Thanks for the info. I hadn't heard of JungleDisk either (clearly, I'm out of the loop here).
