One of the best documentaries I've seen. It was well researched and the last 30 min should be required viewing.

Yep. The "flashlight" app has an LED light as well but you can't flash it for an SOS.

I'm glad I saw this film but I'm not sure I'd recommend it. Very difficult story and while it is a tale of survival it didn't really provide and emotional catharsis. Very raw and disturbing storyline.

I actually enjoy the movie far better than the book. The book -- well, it's written by an old-fashioned journalist. There is zero art to it; it's all craft, polished on a that'll-do basis with an eye toward assembling the relevant facts under a deadline. Although that may be illustrative of a few things, it's tedious to actually read.
