The Borgata Atlantic Ci Lodging
I was sure they said the room would be complimentary, but they ended up charing me $59 for it. Not a huge deal (I'm there 70 nights this year so far) but no more Express Checkout for me.

Gap
Bought a sweater here for my appearance on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Ended up using it.

girlfriday Did you get picked?
Yunhua & Columbus Innew York Restaurant
Came here to celebrate my appearance on Who Wants to Be A Millionaire. Chinese-run sushi place. Don't think I need to say much else.

Bought a chin-up bar for P90X purposes. Came free with 5 exercise bands. Returned a separate purchase of 5 bands that I paid $30 for. Good deal all around. All the equipment looks pretty good laying on my living room floor. Maybe I'll try it out some day.

girlfriday Oh you enterprising P90X-ers. I wish you well as I girly hike and do a few crunches.
Costco
Don't remember what I bought other than a ton of dairy products. Cheese, heavy cream, milk, etc. Sick thing is that I'm lactose intolerant. But I still love dairy.

girlfriday So basically Costco's your devil.
Total Wine & More
Needs a white wine to go into my Mussels in White Wine Sauce. Bought the cheapest bottle I could find. $5.99. 4 pounds of mussels gone in under 5 minutes for Thanksgiving afternoon appetizers. And I had enough wine left over to still get tipsy.

Bobs Discount Furniture
Bought a sofa. Ate lots of cookies and ice cream. Sofa didn't fit up the stairs. Went back and picked a smaller sofa. Ate more cookies and ice cream.

They great thing about my Amazon Prime free-shipping subscription? I can order a $4 item and not give a damn about how much shipping is. I don't even remember what I bought. I just know I didn't pay a cent for shipping. The cardboard box that the item comes in probably sells for $4 at the local U-Ship center.

Needed a new iPod USB cable. Did not want to pay Apple's "whatever-rediculously-marked-up-price-they-charge" so taking a gamble and ordering supposedly "OEM" parts. Covering my bases by getting two, so at least one of them is bound to be good, right?

Bought two more 2TB drives to stick in an eSATA enclosure as part of a four drive RAID 5 array. 6 terabytes of redundantly-protected data storage capacity. Plenty of space for my Word documents and Excel spreadsheets. Oh, and old emails!

www.newegg.com
My go-to place for computer-related stuff. Prices are really hard to beat, they run a lot of free shipping deals, and the reviews are actually informative. The only problem? I live in Jersey and newegg.com is like the one primarily online store that decided NJ would be a good place to maintain a presence - so I get charged 7% tax.

So what did I buy this time? A 600GB laptop hard drive to stick in an XBox so I can avoid paying Microsoft huge markup for their hard drives. Not 100% sure it will work, and my warranty will become worthless, but we'll see.

Dell Catalog Sales
Xbox 360 250GB w/ Kinect. Normally $399 - if you can find it in stock. Shipped FedEx and arrived in four days. What's not to love. Seems like these things are going for over $500 on eBay, so may just sell it there.

Especially since I have two more coming. (Just not soon)

Compare Parking Rates App
The app is called Best Parking. Enter in a location and time parameters and it will bring up a map of parking garages along with the expected rate. I've used it in NYC and it is, how should I put it... awesome. No more wondering if you could have gotten a cheaper garage. Save money and get peace of mind. I'm surprised how much the latter is worth. I would pay for this app, but it's free.
Exxon Mobil
My dad would always go to Exxon stations to fill up back when I was a kid. We even had an Exxon card (Do people still get gas station credit cards?.) Also, they haven't had a major oil spill in a few years. So all things being equal, I will go to an Exxon. But usually things are not equal so I'll end up at Hess or Wawa more often than not.

I'm also one of those people who will generally fill up only after the E light has been on for at least 10-15 miles. My goal is to see how far I can go before empty is really empty. Of course, I could just read the owner's manual and find out the total capacity, and do some simple math to figure it out, but where's the fun in that? My record so far: 17 miles of solid yellow light before wimping out.

Office Depot
Bought 10,000 sheets of paper. $69 isn't too bad a price. But not as good as $0.80, which is what I'll be paying if the rebate goes through. I didn't even need the paper. But 80 cents?! I'm pretty sure I'm going to get screwed on this particular rebate, though.

NYC Dot parking
NYC has these centralized parking meter machines that give you a ticket. The first machine I went to declined four of my credit cards. The second one couldn't connect to decline my cards. The third accepted my card, but then didn't print out a ticket. The fourth gave off sparks and exploded.

OK, the fourth one didn't explode. It did print out a ticket, but it was 3 minutes slow, so I think I lost 3 minutes.

Oh and then when I went to use it again, I bought another full hour (which technically you aren't supposed to do in the same spot) and then realized that free parking started in 20 minutes.
